Sardar Balbir Singh was born on 26/01/1950 in a sikh family in Punjab.He moved to Lucknow to pursue Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) from Lucknow University.Finally he got settled in Delhi and Balbir Singh painted hundreds of paintings. His main focus was on Sikh Gurus, their life and work. His milestone in domain of art is his 'Guru Nanak Paintings' are placed in many Gurdwara across world.He painted pictures of all ten Sikh Gurus.His other art includes Oil on Canvas, Knife paintings, Portraits, Religious paintings & landscapes.
